On July 31, the top 24 wakeboarders and wakeskaters from North America were transported from Toronto to Deerhurst Golf and Resort in the first Red Bull Winch Masters start. Red Bull Wake worked closely with the local team at Muskoka Militia and owners Jim and Jesse Brace page to come up with this first event of its kind wake. Red Bull Winch Masters is a combination of the PGA Masters Tournament and the winch engine pulled emerging wakeboard and wakeskate trend. The entireLakeside Course at Deerhurst was insane rail set-up built on the water obstacles and teams of riders sessioned put every obstacle. There were six teams of four men vying for the top three in the final. In line with the golf theme, riders judged each other on score cards filled in each water hazard and the top riders battled for the final head to head competition for the bag, golf clubs and the coveted Green Jacket. The stacked field included names like Harf, Lidberg, Ruck, Taylor, Hansen and Shinn as well as Red Bull athletes Brian Grubb, Parks Bonifay, and JD Webb.
